The Phnom Penh Players are pleased to present a performance of Eve Ensler’s award winning and empowering play, The Vagina Monologues.
The play features real interviews of experiences of women. In it, there are stories of consensual and nonconsensual sexual experiences, sense of self, genital mutilation, giving birth, self-care, sex work, and many other topics experienced by women of various ages, races, sexualities and other differences. Though the women are from different backgrounds, they all share the same message – women just want to be treated with respect and dignity. The New York Times called The Vagina Monologues, “probably the most important piece of political theater of the last decade.
