The Phnom Penh Players are pleased to present a performance of Eve Ensler’s award winning and empowering play, The Vagina Monologues. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women’s sexuality in all its complexities. It features real interviews of experiences from over 200 women of various ages, races and sexualities. Consensual and nonconsensual sexual experiences, genital mutilation, giving birth, self-care, and sex work are just a few of the topics depicted in these monologues. Funds raised by this performance went towards Phnom Penh Players fundraising efforts. The charity for this show was the Early Years Behind Bars project, a Cambodian organization under LICADHO, Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights. Early Years provides basic needs and protection for children and woman in prison. https://www.licadho-cambodia.org/programs/prisonproject.php This play contains adult subject matter, including strong language, themes and descriptions of sexual & graphic violence. This play is not intended for anyone under the age of 17.
