It was an exciting night to get a glimpse of the second half of 2019 productions and agree schedules to match. Phnom Penh Players June-December schedule will be filled by an old Hollywood classic; Cat on a Hot Tin Roof directed by Chas Hamilton in September, as well as a mysterious Phnom Penh original with all the technical whistles and bangs you can imagine called; Three Steps to Supernova by Robert Appleby and Evan Heiser in October. Last but not least in December; ‘Ohh yes it is!’ The world of Pantomania will be taken over by Cinderella! by Paul Glew.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is Tennessee Williams’s masterpiece winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1955. It’s a tale of a Southern family in crisis, especially the husband Brick and wife Margaret, and their interaction with Brick’s family over the course of one evening’s gathering at the family estate in Mississippi. It’s an explosive story of sexual repression and the conflict between truth and illusion.
